Lornes LoonyBin Friday was Muniba's last day working at Wendy's as a shift supervisor with us. She is going back home to Pakistan to get married. It was an emotional day, and Im sure everyone in crew and management at Store 6547 will miss her a lot. GOOD LUCK MUNIBA :) Current mood: awake. Current music: Electric Fans - Whirr. I cant believe i've been working at Wendy's for a year and a half already (had my year and a half review today). I got a raise and now make $8.45cdn/hr, which, as my mother says, is better than a kick in the ass with a frozen boot... It scares me, actualy, how many crew members have come and gone in the time that I've been there, and it also scares me how long I have been there, especially since it was supposed to be a summer job between my first and second year of Uni... Im now almost finished the first semester of my 3rd year.... EEP... Just some food for thought. Current mood: Current music: Tsubasa Chronicle OST 1. This is a post in support of BC teachers and their strike for better conditions for themselves, and for the education of BC Students. I hate how everyone is saying that the teachers are selfish and that they should just shut up, bend over, and get fucked, again. I ask the people who say this, do you know the history of the teachers labour dispute? have you read up on it? do you even read the newspaper? The contract that was legislated earlier this month is the same contract, with the same pay and less benefits, no limits on class sizes, no ability to strike because teaching is an essential service, that was imposed on BC's teachers in 1993. How would you like to have a party arbitrarily decide that you cannot have a pay raise for nearly 13 years? would you like that much? I take it you have no problem not getting a raise in 13 years, and having benefits that you settled for instead of pay taken away just like *that* *snaps fingers* So what I want to say to BC teachers is this: Keep up the good fight and know, that Lorne Tapp-Cowan is on your side :) Current mood: aggravated & amused & pissed off. Happy thanksgiving to my canadian brothers and sisters ^^;; Yay Turkeyday :P I worked 5am - 10am today got paid time and a half for it because of the holiday. Ninja let me off early because I was tired, but also because of the + hours for the week, and also because i had a lot of homework. My current reading for the week is "China in Revolution, the Yenan Way Revisited" by Mark Selden - I have to read this and write a book review on it for History 486, the chinese communist revolution; I also have a paper due for history 465, British India so im not going to be available much for the next few weeks, so much to do, with work and school and stuff. Oh! I love you so much ChunkyQ <3 Just testing out iJournal for mac OS X gnight guys <3 Ok, so some eeeeeediot in #GTN just pasted a linky and made me lose all that I had written on here before. so anyways... congrats Ravi and Nam <3 <3 <3. Henry, get your ASS to Wendy's today at 05:00 if you know whats good for you... Busy with school and work this semester. Thats about it for now, just feeling kinda lonely and depressed atm... OH! Greets to Pic-A-Card <3 Current mood: Current music: Computers - Whirr. So yesterday at around midnight I get a message from a mutal friend of Ravi and Myself that says "do you know what happened to ravi" and I replied "no, but its odd that hes not online." This mutual friend then proceeds to link me up to a post on GTN and I find out that ravi's family has given him an ultimatim with really no choices at all - to "be" straight or to be gay and leave. I could barely sleep last night because I was so worried about him... It's a situation like this that makes me grateful i have an accepting mother (even if the rest of my family is one collective asshole). So anyway, Ravi, I miss you a lot!!! Current mood: Current music: Evanescence - Taking Over Me (Live). Steve, what have you done... I feel betrayed. I have been touting that Apple is the best thing since sliced bread for years already and then with the announcement at WWDC today, as my friend Dallas says: the shit has now hit the fan, and its blowing back in our faces. Just what is this. It all boils down to greed and money in the end i guess. Not only is it one step back, its several. By 2007, there will be no difference between a PC and a Mac except in the software that they run. Is there any point to buying a mac anymore, I think not. All the problems that have plagued x86 since the beginning of time will be transferred to the Macintosh now. I might as well sell my powerbook and my upgraded B&W and go back to using my Athlon 1.8Ghz, and buy a DellWintop for school, because thats what it boils down to in the end. I bought a mac because they are unique, now they will be all the same again :'(. I can understand if apple switched from motorola to intel for making PPC chips, but switching the entire platform from PPC to x-86? it makes no sense at all... Current mood: |
